So I'll Always Remember, Part 2

While having a conversations with Riley about God and the devil and the differences between the two, Riley says..."you know who is the baddest person on the earth... Voldemort!"

A few weeks ago I was having a terrible time with my sinuses. I decided that it was time to pull out the big guns to help relieve some of the pain. I have a warm, moist heat sinus compress that you heat in the microwave and place over your eyes/sinus area. (It works wonderfully, BTW, at relieving sinus pain and pressure). As I was sitting in the front yard, compress in place, with Eric, Dylan and Riley, listening to them play, Riley looks at me with the compress over my eyes and says, "Mommy, you look like you're going to be blonde". At first I didn't quite understand what he was talking about and then it hit me... what he meant to say was that it looked like I was blind!

A few months ago, Dylan started making this cute little 'roaring' sound. He sounded like a little lion. This new noise, however, was short lived and I was upset that it didn't stick. It was sooooo cute. But just a week or so ago, the 'roaring' started again. It's so funny to watch him crawl while making his little roaring sound.... just like a baby lion cub. Too cute!

At this point in time, Dylan mostly just babbles. But he babbles all the time. He's very vocal, more so than Riley ever was. Every now and then he will call for "MAMA", "DADA" and "RARA (Riley)".

Last month Riley, Dylan and I traveled to Savannah to visit Aunt Mimi for Labor Day weekend. We were driving on I-95 headed to St. Simons Island and going over some marshland and Riley says to me, "Look Mommy, is that the mush?!?" "No, no, baby. It's called the marsh."

Riley's interest in girls has already started. Right now he has 3 different girlfriends: Zoe, Alyssa and Gabby. However I think that Gabby is his main squeeze. Every day I ask him what he ate for lunch and he always tells me, "I got 'X entree'. It's the same that Gabby got." Oh, Heaven help me!

Lately, Riley has been taking about death a lot. His perception is that you die when you are 100 years old and then you go to Heaven. He says that Daddy will die first, then mommy, then me (him), then Dylan. He speaks about it very matter-of-factly. But he says that after Eric and I die that he will take care of Dylan. Such a sweet big brother, even though the thought is very morbid :)

Now that Dylan has become a champion at crawling, we often play chase in the house. I say to him, "Dylan, I'm gonna get you!!" He then squeals in delight and takes off across the house so I can chase him. When I catch him, I scoop him up and start 'eating him up'. I get even more squeals and giggles from my happy, happy boy.
