Also, as some of you may know, I have been "chasing" a nursing job at Cardiovascular Medicine for the past month. I have had many phone conversations and e-mails with the director of nursing, and from what I understood from her, I am the person that she wants for the job, she was just waiting for the new position to get approved. Well, she got that approval on Friday! Hopefully I'll be speaking with her this week iron out details. I SOOOOOO badly need this job!
Riley has not been feeling well for a few days and was complaining that he had a sore in his mouth and he had been running a low fever. Eric and I just assumed that it was a mouth ulcer, and thought that it would go away. Well, today as I took a more thorough look in his mouth, I noticed a very large swollen area on the roof of his mouth, right behind his two front teeth. It appeared that there was an area of puss (superficially) on the very tip of it and very dark tissue surrounding it. I immediately called the pediatrician and they were able to see us an hour and a half from when I called. Upon examination, it appeared to be a large hematoma caused by some sort of trauma!?!? Me and Eric are not exactly sure how this happened, but are relieved to know that this should go away on its own.
These are the 2 pictures that I took at the dr's office today. Riley wanted me to take pictures of him.
Well, that's all from us this week. Hopefully on my next post I'll have some good news about a new job! Please keep praying for me!

I was so happy to see you!!!! Too bad work always gets in the way. The last pic of Riley on the exam table reminds me of Rob. He would always come to tell me "take my picture, I'm cute", when he was doing something he thought was amazing. I knew you would hear from the cardiac facility. I was confident that you were the BEST person for the job. Just be patient. Let me know if there is ANYTHING YOU NEED to prepare for your new position. You know Mama will take care of it for you. I am always so proud of you and love you, no matter what!
Ouch! Good thing he isn't allergic to ants. That'd be scary. I did not recognize Rob when I first saw the picture. Let's see . . I saw him when he was 12, then at Meredith's wedding, and then in this picture. It's hard to keep up when that many years go by at a time. Thanks for posting. I hope you get the job. Love, Aunt Kathy
